Merzbow has released a number of works on CD on this label, including “Kaoscitron”, “Kaerutope”, “Indigo Dada”, “Sparrow Color 1”, “Sparrow Color 2”,and the archive series of unreleased and discovered recordings in chronological order. However, for the first time, this work will be released exclusively as a digital album on bandcamp.
This work "Gecko Raga" contains four tracks created between 2023 and 2024.
All of the tracks were created through overdubbing of multiple performances, with the second track in particular being a tremendous variation of disarray, sporadic, transformations, and disconnections of various materials. The track is composed of performances using various synths, effectors, and self-made equipment, but the complexity of its aspect is reminiscent of the style of the 80s, which was sometimes characterized by extreme sampling/collage.
In addition, the first track's noisy intensity dissolves the multiplicity of multiple takes, and the bit-crushing character of the third track brings about a similar state of affairs. These create a contrast with the second track.
And the fourth track is very distinctive, with a Kaossilator performance at the end of the track.
This sound has a pitch movement similar to that of a saxophone or organ, which is unusual and refreshing in Merzbow's work.
At the same time, however, this sound recalls Merzbow's previous works, "Sparrow Color 1" and "Sparrow Color 2," in which Merzbow played on a synthesizer with a keyboard attached.
It is a very interesting track that simultaneously brings up novelty and a connection to the past.

CATalysis 4 into Hat 1046 is one of the most blissful noise experiences I've had in quite some time. Transcendent. Brilliant. Nice Finnegan the Fox samples on Haf 1046 (to my ears). Cute cats on the cover. Chef's kiss 100% andrewmeow
Percussive, tin rattling aggression that melts into overblown electro-blitzkrieg & then a delicious bass drone-thumping, adding metallic noise & a crunching assault & briefly swirling whip & a beat-droning pulse & some helicopter flailing with titanium-aquatic slushes dispersed with bursts into shrill, brash scraping that ebbs & flows in gutteral squalls & alien demon vocalizations. Bonus tracks erupt in bubbling bass/swirl/scratch improvs that crush. MERZILLA
The pulsing industrial sounds on the wonderfully brutal new LP from Tokyo group Rinsaga will be catnip for the black-glove-and-mesh set. Bandcamp New & Notable Aug 15, 2022
Composer Eiko Ishibashi's soundtrack from "Drive My Car" is full of sweeping yet gentle melodies that rise and fall in romantic waves. Bandcamp New & Notable Feb 3, 2022
This album is easily one of Merzbow's most underrated releases. next to Merzbeat, I think this is probably my second favorite. Colorful, full of texture, noisy, fun, jazzy and unpredictable. Shared Systems 有限
