This Album is from the 6CD boxed set “Fantail Vision”, released on Slowdown Records in 2022. The box consists of six new albums recorded between 2020 and 2022, “magnetic rain" is the album positioned as Disc 6. It contains four tracks recorded between February to June 2022, but there is no indication of any connection to previously released works, and all of the tracks are completely new material that has never been released before. The first half of the album, "Magnetic Rain No.2" and "Magnetic Rain (Drop #1)," and the second half, "Bayanoise 1" and "Bayanoise 2," are distinctly different in style.
The first half is a dizzying interplay of various sounds, including electronic sounds that fluctuate wildly in pitch and bass sounds that undulate periodically, creating a performance with a large amount of information, as if a variety of patterns appear and disappear. The second half of the album is a very eccentric work in which noise is overlaid on samples recorded using the bayan, a Russian or Ukrainian folk instrument.
When Merzbow was a duo of Masami Akita and Kiyoshi Mizutani (1979-1981), there were attempts to have the two perform on various instruments, but since the 1990s, when explosive noise became a main elements of the style, acoustic instruments other than drums have rarely been used in the productions. So the combination of sounds attempted here is full of unfamiliarity, strangeness, and freshness.

The darkness of this album along with its name is not nonsense, but has a lot to do with what you are going to find when you listen to it. A perfect ambience that gives you chills just trying to imagine what the "Black Crow Cyborg" coming towards you would be like. Two legends together on the same LP, you can't ask for more, LISTEN IT NOW! kato09
While still sounding harsh a lot of the time, this will not obliterate you like other Merzbow releases. Steady elements give a noob like me something to cling to amidst the chaos. Hans
The pulsing industrial sounds on the wonderfully brutal new LP from Tokyo group Rinsaga will be catnip for the black-glove-and-mesh set. Bandcamp New & Notable Aug 15, 2022
Composer Eiko Ishibashi's soundtrack from "Drive My Car" is full of sweeping yet gentle melodies that rise and fall in romantic waves. Bandcamp New & Notable Feb 3, 2022
Easily one of my favourite Merzbow records and one of my favourite noise records in general. Expertly crafted and blisteringly hot sonically, it's definitely not one to miss. Audrey Cusack
