This Album is from the boxed set “Fantail Vision”, released on Slowdown Records in 2022. Merzbow has previously released five original albums on that label, "Kaoscitron" (2017), "Indigo Dada" (2019), "Kaerutope" ( 2019), "雀⾊1 Sparrow Color 1" (2020), and "雀⾊2 Sparrow Color 2" (2020). These five albums were compiled into the box "2017-2020".
"Fantail Vision" is a 6-CD box consisting of recordings from the following period, 2020-2022. This is the perfect collection of sound recordings to get a sense of Merzbow's current state.
The "mukogenerator" is positioned as Disc 1 of "Fantail Vision" and contains three tracks recorded in November 2020. These recordings are available digitally on Merzbow's Soundcloud, and this is the original version. And this is a higher quality, as the Soundcloud version was compressed for audition purposes. The three tracks have distinctly different elements, especially the first track, which starts with a soft pad-like electronic sound and is overlaid with powerful noise, is a deeply performance that straddles the boundary between shoegaze and harsh noise. The contrast between the second track, where the electronic beats are gradually chopped up and melded with the noise, and the third track, where the live drum loop continues to sound inorganic from beginning to end, is also interesting.

Easily one of my favourite Merzbow records and one of my favourite noise records in general. Expertly crafted and blisteringly hot sonically, it's definitely not one to miss. Audrey Cusack
The pulsing industrial sounds on the wonderfully brutal new LP from Tokyo group Rinsaga will be catnip for the black-glove-and-mesh set. Bandcamp New & Notable Aug 15, 2022
Composer Eiko Ishibashi's soundtrack from "Drive My Car" is full of sweeping yet gentle melodies that rise and fall in romantic waves. Bandcamp New & Notable Feb 3, 2022
While still sounding harsh a lot of the time, this will not obliterate you like other Merzbow releases. Steady elements give a noob like me something to cling to amidst the chaos. Hans
